Title IX
What is Title IX:
Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972 prohibits sex discrimination in education. Title IX states that:
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
This comprehensive federal civil rights law covers all students and staff in any educational institution or program that receives federal funding, including local school districts, and career and technical education centers.
