Adult Continuing Education Scholarship Opportunities
Berks County Community Foundation is seeking applicants for scholarships. To be considered, students must submit all required information by the application deadline. The Jorge Luis Acevedo, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund – This fund provides scholarships to seniors of Reading High School who graduate with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and who will be continuing their education in a culinary arts program. Application deadline is March 15
Building Industries Exchange and Berks County Fund – The purpose of this fund is to support Berks County residents who are pursuing careers in the building trades and/or construction design technology. Such careers include, but are not limited to, architecture, drafting, or engineering related to the construction industry, or Trade Prep Certificate Programs or Apprenticeship Programs related to the construction industry including, but not limited to, HVAC, Carpentry, Plumbing or Electrical. Application deadline is March 15.
Helen M. Clymer Scholarship Fund – This fund awards scholarships to single mothers from Berks County who seek post-secondary education at a Berks County School. Application deadline is March 15.
The Jim and Ruth B. Daley Family Fund – This scholarship supports Berks County residents who are continuing their education. The fund covers items such as living expenses, professional testing fees, books, childcare, transportation, tuition and other emergency needs. This award is not available to high school seniors. Application deadline is March 15.
Eppihimer Scholarship Fund – One or more scholarships will be awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who are residents of the City Of Reading who will be pursuing vocational or technical training that will lead to employment in the computer, mechanical or industrial trades, or who are pursuing an education to enter the nursing profession. To be eligible to apply, applicants must live in the area that serves Reading High School district. Application deadline is March 15.
GRIP Dreamer Scholarship Fund – This fund was established to provide college scholarships to immigrants who are not eligible for Federal and/or Pennsylvania financial aid. Applicants must be seniors at or graduates of a high school located in Berks County, PA; and the applicant’s current primary home at the time of application must be located in Berks County, PA. Applicants must be age 30 or under. Application deadline is March 15
Haupt Family Fund – This scholarship is for Berks County residents who are furthering their education in a mechanical technology field or an automotive technology field at a vocational/technical school located in Berks County. Application deadline is March 15.
The Ralph H. and Florence Moyer Fund – The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to Berks County Youth who are pursing post-secondary education for vocational or technical training, i.e. developing a skill/expertise in a specific field of study, forgoing the general education courses associated with some post-secondary programs. Some examples if vocational or technical education are: HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, practical nursing, medical secretary, industrial maintenance, dental hygienist. This opportunity is not eligible for the student who is pursuing a 4-year bachelor’s degree. Application deadline is September 7.
