Triennial Assessment
What is the Triennial Assessment?
The Triennial Assessment is a federally required review of BCTC’s Local School Wellness Policy. Conducted every three years, this assessment evaluates the effectiveness of our wellness initiatives, ensures compliance with federal standards, and identifies areas for improvement.
Why is the Assessment Important?
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) mandates that all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) periodically review and update their wellness policies. This process helps ensure that students have access to nutritious meals, physical activity opportunities, and a school environment that supports overall well-being.
Key Areas of Evaluation:
– Compliance – How well BCTC’s wellness policy aligns with federal and state requirements.
– Implementation – The effectiveness of wellness initiatives, including nutrition standards and physical activity programs.
– Progress – Measurable improvements and goals achieved since the last assessment.
