You are invited…
Students residing in 1 of BCTC’s 16 sending districts, who are currently in 6th through 8th grades are invited to a unique learning experience focused on fun, creativity, and hands-on activities.
Students will rotate through 5 programs with each day being spent exploring different career paths offered at BCTC.
Cosmetology – Style & Shine – Learn beauty basics, including nail care techniques, creative braiding styles, and experimenting with temporary hair color. Hands-on activities and expert guidance provide a fun introduction to the skills and creativity of the beauty industry. Perfect for aspiring stylists and beauty enthusiasts!
Culinary Arts – Twist & Shout for Pretzels – Unleash your inner chef and dive into the fun art of soft pretzel making! Learn the essentials of ingredient weights and measures, master mixing and dough forming techniques, and create delicious dipping sauces to pair with your pretzels. Campers will also gain valuable skills in kitchen safety and sanitation. A tasty and hands-on culinary adventure awaits!
Electrical Occupations – Get Amped Up – Discover the exciting world of electrical trade! Learn the fundamentals of conduit bending, wiring techniques, and the proper use of electrical tools. Gain insight into linemen work and explore a variety of electrical career opportunities through hands-on activities and guided instruction. Perfect for aspiring electricians and those curious about the field!
Precision & Computerized Machining Technology – Tools for Tomorrow – Use a lathe to craft a brain teaser puzzle, a milling machine to create a customized nametag keychain, and gain an introduction to modern machining with state-of-the-art computer numerical control (CNC) equipment. This hands-on program is perfect for budding innovators and problem-solvers eager to explore advanced manufacturing.
Recreational & Power Equipment Technology – Small Engines, Big Adventures – Learn essential skills such as maintaining landscape equipment, understanding engine basics, and mastering how to change a tire. Perfect for those who love working with tools and machines, this program is a great introduction to the world of power equipment maintenance and repair.
Camper Requirements
Campers must dress to meet the safety requirements of our programs. Sneakers and long pants are required. Long hair may be required to be tied up and away from camper’s face and shoulders.
Campers must provide their own lunch for Monday – Thursday. Lunches will be able to be refrigerated.

All waitlisted campers will be contacted by Monday, May 26th, via email as to whether or not spaces have opened. Students will be contacted in the order the form was received.
