Student operating a switcher board

Congratulations to Colton Buckley, a Mechatronics Engineering Technology student and Wilson High School senior, for being named the 2024-25 BCIAA Boys Bowler of the Year!

A dedicated athlete, Colton has been bowling for ten years, starting as an after-school hobby before joining his high school team and competing in tournaments. In addition to bowling, he is also a member of Wilson’s golf team.

Colton’s passion for problem-solving led him to enroll in BCTC’s Mechatronics program, where he enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together. “There is a satisfaction in understanding how it all works,” he shared.

Balancing athletics and technical education have never been an issue. “I never had to choose between sports and BCTC. There has never been a problem with me leaving early if needed for an away game. BCTC encourages all students to remain active in their high school in clubs or sports teams,” he said.

Looking ahead, Colton plans to bowl at the collegiate level while pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering. Having been accepted to both Penn State Berks and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), he is excited to make his decision soon. “I will be able to combine two things I really love to do!”
